Our Story

The Shaker's legacy wasn't born overnight. It took grit, determination, and perseverance to get to where we are today. From the start, our family has been committed to serving our customers in ways that they've perhaps never experienced before.

Humble Beginnings

In the midst of the Great Depression in 1930, Joseph Shaker started a small service station to help local drivers, farmers, and workers fix their trucks so they could continue serving their customers. It wasn't the time to start a business, with the failing economy; however, where there is a need, there is the possibility for success.

This hard work paid off, and in 1941, we opened a maintenance center to help even more drivers keep their vehicles in tip-top condition. In 1947, we opened our first car dealership, offering the same level of care and service that the Shaker family was known for in the area. Since then, we've continued to expand to serve even more customers.

Who We Are Today

Today, we are a fourth-generation family business that has been operating the same way since 1930. We are proud to own several dealerships across Connecticut and Massachusetts, showcasing a wide range of top automotive brands. However, we still have one approach to how we do business—provide our customers with honest, fair, and truly transparent service.
