Exterior and Performance
A Lithium-ion polymer battery pack is installed under the hood of the 2020 Ioniq Electric. Generating up to 38.3 kWh and 319.4 volts, this propulsion system is compatible with a standard onboard charger that's rated at 7.2 kW. Having the DC fast-charging design, an SAE combination port makes it easy to recharge this efficient Hyundai hatchback. Generating up to 100 kW, an electric motor is another standard installation in this compact vehicle. You'll also get up to 218 pound-feet of net torque from the powerful motor. The 2020 Ioniq Electric offers a maximum driving range of 170 miles from a fully charged battery. The brake regeneration technology contributes to such impressive performance. You may use paddles to control the level of regenerative braking depending on driving conditions. Additionally, this all-electric hatchback is driven by a single-speed reduction gear that sends torque to a front-wheel drive. A shift-by-wire function could be activated with a gentle push of an electronic button.
Interior and Technology
An air conditioning system is standard inside the 2020 Ioniq Electric. The Limited edition has a heat pump that rapidly warms up the entire cabin. This high-level model also offers leather-appointed seats with a lumbar cushion and the Integrated Memory System for the driver. Heated front seats are standard in this efficient Hyundai hatchback. Integrated into the floor, HVAC vents deliver cool air for the rear passengers. Illuminated vanity mirrors, sunvisor extensions and power door locks are some other default amenities in this compact electric car. You'll also get a rear window defroster and the Auto Defogging System for the front windshield. LED overhead lights and ambient lights illuminate the cozy cabin.
You can use the exclusive Blue Link mobile application to remotely charge the 2020 Ioniq Electric. The Charge Scheduling function allows you to recharge the Li-ion polymer battery at a convenient time. You'll also access other digital services in the Blue Link Connected Car and Connected Care suites. Additionally, the Guidance Package delivers personalized information for daily travel. Integrated into the center console, USB ports quickly recharge mobile phones and other gadgets. A wireless phone charger is standard in the Limited model. This high-level trim also boasts an all-new touch screen that measures 10.25 inches diagonally. The base edition is equipped with an 8-inch display, which also recognizes swipes and taps. Some standard smartphone connections in the 2020 Ioniq Electric include Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and Bluetooth. Made by Harman Kardon, eight speakers entertain passengers in the Limited edition. Covering 7.0 inches in the instrument cluster, a TFT LCD monitor shows vital information.
Safety
The Smart Cruise Control keeps the 2020 Ioniq Electric moving at the same pace as other traffic on a freeway. You'll also get the Stop & Go function in the updated SCC. This electric Hyundai hatchback has the Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist with sensors that identify pedestrians. The Driver Attention Warning recognizes inattentive or reckless driving. If necessary, the Lane Following Assist will override the steering system. You can also regain control of the car with some help from the Lane Keeping Assist. Other active safety technologies in this electric vehicle include the BCA and RCCA.
