The 2019 Hyundai Sonata Hybrid is a fuel-saving, four-door sedan with lots value and style. It has an updated exterior, top-ranking safety features and a lifetime warranty on the hybrid batteries. There are four models to choose from. There's the base model Hybrid SE and the Limited. Then, there's the Plug-in Hybrid model and the corresponding Limited model trim for the plug-in version.
For 2019, there were a few upgrades to the vehicle's exterior. It now has fog lights in the front fascia and two new wheel designs. Safety upgrades are also a top priority and Hyundai has made rear cross traffic alert and blind spot monitoring standard equipment on all the Sonata Hybrid trims. Lane-keeping technology and automatic braking are also new safety features, but they're not standard on the base model.

Exterior and Performance
The 2019 Hyundai Sonata Hybrid has a 2.0 Liter, 4-cylinder engine that's managed by a 6-speed automatic transmission. This vehicle's base engine configuration has an output of 193 horsepower. The modest use of hybrid power on the Sonata allows it to achieve 40 miles per gallon in the city and up to 46 MPG on the highway. Plug-in Hybrid versions of the 2019 Sonata have larger battery banks. They have a 28 mile all-electric range and a 600 mile total driving range. They're also paired with the same four cylinder engine but get a slight boost in horsepower - up to 202.

Interior and Technology
The interior of the Sonata Hybrid is simple, attractive and uncluttered. Buttons and controls are thoughtfully laid-out. Leatherette door trim and metallic accents complement the beige, grey or black cloth seats. The Limited model trims get considerable upgrades to the interior. They come with a panoramic sunroof and leather seats. The front seats are also heated and ventilated. The rear bench is 60/40 split folding to offer easy access to the trunk and the total interior volume is 119.4 cubic feet.
The 2019 Sonata Hybrid comes with a 7-inch touchscreen display in the center dashboard. However, you can still control your audio, cruise control and Bluetooth functions through the steering wheel-mounted controls. Limited models get a slightly larger center touchscreen display and the Blue Link Connected Car system. Apple Car Play and Android Auto are standard on all models, helping you connect to your digital life any way that you see fit. Additionally, there are available USB charging ports in the front and rear, a wireless phone charging station, and an Infinity premium audio system.
Safety
A rearview camera comes standard on all the Sonata Hybrid models. You also get a complete suite of electronic stability and traction control features. The Limited models have additional safety features like automatic high beam assist, lane keeping assist and smart cruise control. Parking sensors are optional on the Limited model hybrid, but come standard on the Plug-in Hybrid Limited trim. The NHTSA give the 2019 Sonata Hybrid it's top honors - 5 stars overall.
