Exterior and Performance
The 2019 Hyundai Ioniq has an all-electric driving range of 124 miles. It has a lithium polymer ion battery bank that is paired to an interior-permanent magnet synchronous electric motor. There's no fuel tank on the Ioniq Electric vehicle. That doesn't mean it's a sluggard though. The powertrain is incredibly responsive with 218 lb. ft. of torque on demand. The Ioniq Electric operates on a front wheel drive set-up and uses regenerative braking to supply some power back to the battery as you drive.

Interior and Technology
The 2019 Ioniq from Hyundai has a surprisingly upscale interior. A leather-wrapped steering wheel and heated front seats are standard. The Ioniq also has ample space for five passengers and inventive solutions for stowing cargo. There is 96.2 cubic feet of passenger volume. By comparison, the 2019 Chevrolet Bolt EV only has a passenger volume of 94.40 cubic feet. The Ioniq has interior storage spaces in the center console, seatback pockets and rear console. The layout is simple and uncluttered. The materials don't feel cheap or unadorned. The Limited model features the best layout configuration with leather seating, power sunroof, and LED interior lighting.
The 2019 Ioniq Electric has an available 8-inch touchscreen display that manages the navigation, audio, and monitors your electric driving range. There's a separate control system for the climate controls. There are also controls for these systems mounted on the steering wheel so the driver doesn't have to take their eyes off the road. Drivers don't get to have all the fun in the 2019 Ioniq Electric. The Limited model trim has wireless device charging, an 8-speaker Infinity premium audio system, and 3 months of SiriusXM radio. Android Auto and Apple CarPlay are standard on all models.

It has a rearview camera, tire pressure monitoring system, and a comprehensive suite of five different electronic driver-assisted features like traction control and vehicle stability management.
